Governance 2.0: How Secretaries of State are Streamlining Services in a 2.0 World
April 20, 8:00 a.m., Ballroom
Description: A discussion about implementing technology solutions at the state level.
What new technologies are Secretaries of State using to communicate with constituents?
How have they used 2.0 solutions (web-based solutions, mobile technology, etc.) to increase
transparency of records and information, or the procurement of licenses? How does this relate
to how they have responded to the Help America Vote Act? What first drew them to the tools
they use? How do Secretaries of State balance the new level of transparency these tools provide
with their need or desire to keep some things private? That is, how are constituents' privacy concerns
being addressed? How are they directing their staff to integrate these tools into their daily routines?
What is the biggest potential danger in using these tools?
