Successful Tactics for Raising Money Online
April 21, 3:30 p.m., Meridian C
Description: This panel would focus on case studies from the 2008 Election that
demonstrated important lessons to be learned for online fundraising. The panel
would be from the perspective of political campaigns, advocacy organizations,
PACs and other groups that raise money online. Some questions that might be
answered would be - Can social networks generate dollars? If so, what kind
(large, small, reoccurring)? What about purchasing voter files for prospecting or
recruitment through SEO - can those conversions be donations? How long does
it take to convert someone to a donor? This panel will get past the bells and whistles
of online technology and determine which ones really produce fundraising results.
